Well, it’s January 26th, and we finally made it for an outside practice. I’m not gonna lie, comma, it was very, very cold. We were surprised at how many of the racers and participants showed up for this practice, but we brought the trailer, and the trailer had a heater inside of it where we could gather around and warm our little digits back up.
Part of the practice was taking a group ride around the park. Maybe we should have ridden the park before we took the students out for a ride. It turns out there was a lot of snow and ice still on the trails, and we had one mishap where we ended up breaking out the cleaners and bandages for somebody’s scraped-up knee.
Other than the knee, the rest of the practice went very well. We were able to get off into the dirt. Into the grass and yes… into the snow to have our first outside practice of 2025.
The enthusiasm and the energy around the team are palpable and we’re all very excited to have the weather break and this season really begin.
