Disciples of Dirt Does Not Disappoint

The Hutch Composite race team is proud to return from an exciting opportunity – participating in and competing at the 11-state regional NICA race at Centennial Park in Fayetteville, AR on November 8-9, 2025.

This highly anticipated event was a significant milestone for the local youth mountain bike team, providing them with a chance to showcase their skills and represent their community on a regional level. This is the first regional NICA event that Hutchinson has had the opportunity to participate in.

Consisting of four talented riders, the Hutch Composites team went head-to-head with other top riders from 11 different states, making it a highly competitive and prestigious event. Centennial Park, a renowned and respected mountain biking location, added to the thrill and challenge for the riders. This beautiful venue is resplendent with many manmade, landscaped, rideable features. This is one of the places that those cool YouTube MTB Videos are made.

At the event, there were three main activities. One was the “midway” showcasing the teams, vendors, and cuisine via food truck – which had very favorable reviews. Next was the Adventure Ride. This was a technical and challenging route that was made available throughout the weekend, but not a timed event. Last, was the racing. Split into age-appropriate timed categories.

Three of the riders – Collin Patton, William Reade, and Haydon von Ahnen – competed in the main event, which draws a large crowd and media attention. This presents an incredible opportunity for the team to gain exposure and recognition for their hard work and dedication.

There is something incredibly wholesome about seeing young people put in the effort, prepare, and see the results. All the Coaches and Friends in attendance were so proud of the teammates that made the commitment and the journey to represent Hutchinson.

The main objective is not just about the competition. It’s also about growth and development. By participating in this regional race, the Hutch Composite race team improved their performance and gained valuable experience. The race created a space to network and connect with other riders, coaches, and sponsors from different states.

Hutch Composite is a local non-profit that has been participating in the NICA series for 6-years. Students in 5th through 12th grade are eligible and there are no pre-requisites to join. The team will be holding a Meet and Greet event on November 13, 2025 at 6 pm. (Harley’s Bicycles). More information about Hutch Composite can be found at https://hutchcomposite.com
